Sharondipity evolved from my own personal passion for gift giving and after my second son was born in 1972 (when gold was $35.00 an ounce!), I was looking for something part-time to fill that outside need for independence from the home front. I spent years working part-time for others while still shopping personally for friends and family. All that time that I was searching for something fulfilling and found I was playing at what I did and loved best; my husband finally convinced me to take my hobby seriously.
We converted our third garage into an office and showroom and after much success, started branching out into salons, still playing part-time. In 1991 my husband passed away and I was left with the arduous task of selling his law practice. Shortly thereafter my sister passed away... I felt as though I had lost another spouse. At that point, I poured all my energy full-time into my gift business in order to combat the devastation I was going through. Along with being blessed with loving friends and incredible family support, Sharondipity kept me focused as I moved through my grief. That was eighteen years ago and business has been very good to me.
I love beautiful things and enjoy helping my customers with their gift and accessory decisions. Sharondipity provides customers with a fun and unusual place for fellowship and the opportunity to meet others, often referred to as the “gathering place”. We carry a beautiful line of fine jewelry as well as sterling silver and semi-precious stones. In addition, we have a variety of lovely gifts in a price range for everyone with complimentary gift-wrapping.
Sharondipity has been at three different addresses on the same block. We started out in two different beauty salons and now stand on our own. Our staff is made up of several part-timers, mostly grandmothers, providing a friendly atmosphere, helpful assistance and plenty of loving therapy.
We like to think of a visit to Sharondipity as having a “serendipitous affair” (i.e. looking for something in specific and finding something much more wonderful than expected!)
